World Day Against Child Labor

June 12, 2025

Each year on June 12, the world comes together to observe the World Day Against Child Labor, a day dedicated to raising awareness and encouraging action to end the exploitation of children in the workforce. At Indago Research and Health Center, we recognize the importance of this day not only as healthcare professionals committed to public well-being, but as advocates for human dignity and children’s rights.

Why This Day Matters

According to the International Labour Organization (ILO), over 160 million children around the world are still engaged in child labor. Many of them work in unsafe environments, deprived of education, healthcare, and a safe childhood. The consequences of this global issue are not only felt in developing regions, but also in communities where poverty, lack of access to education, and systemic inequality continue to put children at risk.

Our Role in Research and Advocacy

As a clinical research organization, Indago stands at the intersection of science, healthcare, and ethics. We understand that every child deserves a future built on opportunity, not labor. Our work revolves around promoting health equity, and that includes ensuring that children are protected from exploitation and supported in their growth and development.

Whether through community health initiatives, educational outreach, or upholding ethical standards in our partnerships and research practices, we are committed to maintaining zero tolerance for any form of child labor in our operations and supply chains.

Taking Action Through Awareness

On this World Day Against Child Labor, Indago encourages all  researchers, healthcare workers, sponsors, and community partners to:

  • Support educational programs that empower families and children.

  • Raise awareness about the signs and dangers of child labor in local communities.

  • Advocate for stronger policies and enforcement that protect children’s rights globally.

A Shared Responsibility

The fight against child labor is not the responsibility of one sector alone, it requires a united global front. At Indago, we believe in advancing not just medical innovation, but ethical leadership that respects and uplifts every human being, especially the youngest among us.

Let us use this day as a reminder of the work still needed, and as motivation to help build a world where every child can live, learn, and thrive.
